A Study on the Psychological Stability and Positive Interpersonal Relationship before and after Makeup by the Demographic Characteristics of the Elderly Women

Abstract
This study intends to analyze the psychological stability and positive interpersonal relationship before and after makeup by the demographic characteristics of the elderly women. For this analysis, this study observed the psychological conditions and interpersonal relationship of forty elderly women who were sampled from the residents of Gyeongsan area, and analyzed quantitatively the data measuring the changes in their psychological and interpersonal relationship. First, there were significant differences in the psychological stability by demographic characteristics of age, education, religion, spouse, cost of appearance management, monthly income. That is, the higher the age, the lower the education level, the lower the monthly income, the higher the psychological stability, and the elderly women who had religious belief and spouse were psychologically more stable. Second, there were significant differences in the interpersonal relationship by demographic characteristics of age, education, religion, spouse, cost of appearance management, monthly income. The results of this study confirm that the makeup shows emotional and psychological effects not only on the aesthetic effect but also on the mental health of the elderly women.
